Coming Soon! Global Beachcomber Earrings

I'm very excited about these new earrings!

Global Beachcomber Earrings

These earrings will turn heads and have a nice amount of movement! They feature carved red (new) cinnabar in a lovely Asian design, espresso wood, and white and brown spotted shell.

I imagine these lovelies feature the treasures a globe trekking (or sailing) beachcomber may find on a voyage from Beachcomber Marina, United States to Port of Chung Ching, China (see route here: http://ports.com/sea-route/beachcomber-marina,united-states/port-of-chung-ching-chongqing-chungking,china/).

They are of moderate weight, and measure just under 3" from the kidney ear wires. The antiqued brass kidney wires are about an inch. The red cinnabar beads are 1 3/16" wide.

I'll update with an Etsy link when the sun is up!

*SOLD* Bohemian Engagement II: OOAK Necklace

Bohemian Engagement II

This one-of-a-kind necklace is fun, bohemian, and full of texture and pattern. The necklace will make a statement with its asymmetrical design and black cinnabar lucky fish focal piece.  This is the second in my bohemian engagement series, which means it was born on a whim (the materials found themselves together and I liked the way they looked!).

Blue mosaic turquoise, green cinnabar, and black and gold Lucite globes make up the composition and hematite rondelles near the ends of the necklace add interest.  This necklace is 16 1/2", so it rests just above the collarbone beautifully.  (See the first image featuring a life-size bust.)

New Listings!

Dear Friends and Fans,

My move was exhausting and it's been a while since I've posted any pieces.  But, I've been thinking and dreaming up designs the whole time!  I'm working on three custom orders and I just made two one-of-a-kind bracelets, both made with parts from a vintage necklace, which are available on Etsy.  The first bracelet is another piece in my Teagan collection and the second bracelet is my first "reinvention" piece.  Read in depth about the second bracelet, largely composed of vintage necklace pieces, here on my blog.

I'm looking forward to a holiday season full of creating!  I'll be running special promotions beginning this weekend through December.  Check my Etsy store Banner, located on the main shop page, for details.

Warm regards,
Jameela

Maggie Goes to the Cinna-bar Necklace & Maggie Bracelet - OOAK

The Maggie Collection
*
Maggie Goes to the Cinna-bar Necklace

I had a lot of fun designing and making this necklace and bracelet set.  The pieces naturally go together but will also stand alone and make a statement.  The name "Maggie" affectionately refers to each piece's high magnesite content.  The necklace is striking, substantial, and one-of-a-kind.  Three large Asian-style black cinnabar beads add weight and interest to the composition of white and pink magnesite with heavy matrices.  A carved black lucky cinnabar fish, silver accent beads, and Tibetan silver lucky fish clasp complete the fun, chunky necklace.   All together, the necklace marries the Southwestern U.S. with Asian influences and makes what I'd call an "east meets west" piece.  The main colors, white, pink, and black, will look amazing dressed up with a solid black, white, or pink strapless column dress or dressed down with a classic white t-shirt and jeans. The necklace measures 20" long and is of moderate weight.

More about Magnesite:
Magnesite has the same crystal structure as calcite, which is similar in texture and hardness to marble and turquoise.  In gem lore, magnesite is known for its ability to calm, bring emotional balance, open wearers up to "higher realms and states of consciousness," and get them in touch with themselves beyond veils of perceptions.  It is also believed to clear blockages and hang-ups over the past and open the third eye and crown chakras, which bolsters psychic abilities and promotes bliss (source here).

Maggie Bracelet

Like the Maggie necklace, this bracelet is one-of-a-kind and statement making.  The combination of hot pink, white, and black makes both pieces versatile and wearable with many other colors.  Both pieces draw from the Southwest and the turquoise in the bracelet brings this influence (subtly) to the forefront.  I've had the turquoise for many years along with the faceted hematite beside it--it's like the pieces were waiting for each other and this bracelet's composition--they work very well together.  The black carved agate flower echos the detail of the carved cinnabar fish in the Maggie Necklace, yet sets the bracelet a part and lets it stand on its own.  The bracelet is 8 1/2" long, will fit up to a 7" wrist comfortably, and closes with a Tibetan silver toggle clasp.

Lillian Bracelet: Yellow Jade, Amethyst, & White Cinnabar - Treasury Item

I photographed this bracelet on a beautiful sunny day.  The yellow jade looked amazing and I hope I've captured its beauty alongside the purple, silver, and cream tones here!

I love this bracelet!  The Lillian bracelet is lovely, one-of-a-kind, and the first bracelet in my Lillian collection inspired by purple and gold Thai water lilies.

Lillian features yellow jade, which is looks amazing in sunlight  (as shown above).  Even in lower light, the jade is a beautiful, Meyer lemon-like yellow.  Antiqued silver bead caps with a woven-like texture showcase four larger jade stones.  A deep purple amethyst bead and carved cinnabar lotus flower in a creamy white hue help complete the bracelet.

This bracelet is 9" long, fits a wrist or arm up to 8", and closes with a Tibetan silver toggle clasp.  Although this bracelet will fit a larger woman's wrist best, it drapes well on my 6" wrist.

New Pictures!

Those who know me well know that I have a touch of perfectionism, so I've been retaking pictures of a lot of my pieces and experimenting with lighting, camera settings, and angles.  My goal is to reproduce their colors and texture as accurately as I am able.  So, here are a few new shots I've uploaded to my Etsy listings.
