Coming Soon! Global Beachcomber Earrings

I'm very excited about these new earrings!

Global Beachcomber Earrings

These earrings will turn heads and have a nice amount of movement! They feature carved red (new) cinnabar in a lovely Asian design, espresso wood, and white and brown spotted shell.

I imagine these lovelies feature the treasures a globe trekking (or sailing) beachcomber may find on a voyage from Beachcomber Marina, United States to Port of Chung Ching, China (see route here: http://ports.com/sea-route/beachcomber-marina,united-states/port-of-chung-ching-chongqing-chungking,china/).

They are of moderate weight, and measure just under 3" from the kidney ear wires. The antiqued brass kidney wires are about an inch. The red cinnabar beads are 1 3/16" wide.

I'll update with an Etsy link when the sun is up!

*SOLD* Pink Lantern Earrings - OOAK Pink Jade, Blue Goldstone, & Kuan Yin Carms

These one-of-a-kind earrings are fun, bright, and lively.  They feature two sided antique bronze Kwan Yin (Guanyin, Kuan Yin) charms with pink jade and blue goldstone dangles.  Kwan Yin is the Bodhisattva of compassion and is believed to hear the cries of the world; on the back of this quarter-sized piece is the yin yang symbol.  The deep midnight blue goldstone looks almost black, and its flecks of copper bring even more movement and glamour to these eye-catching earrings.

These look amazing with hot pink, black, and white accents.

According to BestCrystals.com, Pink jade promotes,"Harmony, peace, fidelity, confidence [and is] a wonderful dream stone," which I think is fitting paired with Kwan Yin.  These moderate weight earrings are 3 1/8" long total.  The charms and dangles measure 2 1/8" alone.

These earrings were inspired by The Rachel necklace!

Frida in Marrakech: Red Cinnabar Flowers & Morocco-Inspired Drops

I loved photographing these earrings in the late morning light!

When I completed this design, two things came to mind: Frida Kahlo and Morocco.  "Frida in Marrakech" is the marriage of two realms I love.  I use the term "realm" because Frida Kahlo is a realm--her life and art exude dynamism, passion, and  prove too much to be contained by any one thing.

So, all of my Frida Kahlo inspired designs will feature Frida "in", "with", or "and" something or somewhere.  I've never been to Morocco, but I've been seduced by the country's art and many aspects of its rich culture--it is definitely a realm of its own.

Here, I present to you Frida in Marrakech.  These earrings feature carved red cinnabar flowers and Moroccan-inspired silver etched acrylic drops hung on platinum-over-copper  kidney wires.  They are medium weight and measure 3 3/8" long and 1 1/8"at their  widest point.

By the way, I'm not sure if Frida Kahlo actually spent any time in Morocco, but there is a fabulous guestroom named for her at the Casa Taos in Marrakech.  (See it here.) I must go there one day!

I've made two pairs, so these are limited edition.
